Yoga Teacher/Chef – Jess
Jess has been interested in shamanic practices since she was very young. She has passionately studied a variety of healing traditions and spiritual philosophies, with the understanding that true healing is a holistic process and that for true health and well-being to occur we must live in harmony with ourselves and the natural world.
She began practicing yoga in 2009 and through her practice developed an understanding of the connection between the body, mind and emotions. Inspired by the positive changes she was experiencing on all levels as a result of her own practice, she began her 500 hr yoga teacher training in Iyengar Yoga in 2011 and completed this in 2015.
Since completing her training she has since spent time at a number of ashrams, retreats and centers exploring the many branches of Yoga and deepening her understanding of Vedic philosophy. Jess also completed training as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and managed a practice for several years on the Isle of Man giving Yoga classes and Ayurvedic treatments and consultations.
In December 2015 she left the island for Central America, realizing that the world had much more to offer her. She spent the next couple of years travelling around central and South America teaching Yoga and giving treatments at retreats, lodges and communities. She first drank Ayahuasca in Guatemala in 2016 and knew she had much more work to do with this medicine. She’s now happy to be in a place where she can learn so much about the Shipibo culture and work more deeply with ayahuasca whilst also sharing her knowledge of Yoga.
